Ken Roberts

Ken Roberts (Australian)

Ken Roberts is a senior safety, risk, and performance practitioner with more than four decades of experience across mining, construction, infrastructure, and high-risk operational environments in Australia and South-East Asia. His career spans frontline operations, major projects, EPCM delivery, and contractor-led work, supporting organisations where safety, reliability, and disciplined execution are critical to business continuity.

Ken has provided senior site-based and advisory roles with Tier 1 operators and service providers including BHP Iron Ore, Rio Tinto, BMA, and major EPCM project teams. His work has focused on embedding practical safety and risk systems into live operations, stabilising contractor interfaces, and strengthening frontline leadership capability in remote, production-critical and highly regulated settings. He is experienced in incident investigation (ICAM), critical risk management, permit systems, contractor governance, and regulatory engagement.

Alongside his operational work, Ken is the author of Convenience Kills and Get Real, published through Amazon. These works draw directly from his field experience and challenge traditional, compliance-heavy approaches to safety by focusing on leadership behaviour, decision-making, and the everyday trade-offs that influence risk at the frontline. His writing reflects a consistent theme throughout his career: safety performance improves when systems, leadership intent, and human behaviour are aligned in practice, not just on paper.

Ken is also the founder of Transfoorm™, a practical capability that integrates performance coaching, leadership development, and safety systems to support sustainable cultural and behavioural change in high-risk workplaces. This capability has been embedded directly into mining, construction, and infrastructure environments to support supervisors, crews, and leaders to translate safety expectations into consistent operational behaviour.

Known for a pragmatic, no-nonsense approach, Ken works comfortably across executive, site leadership, and frontline levels. He brings a strong understanding of how risk is actually created and controlled in the field, and how to design safety systems that support work rather than obstruct it. With a focus on 'culture' and teamwork, Ken has had considerable success enabling change and supporting increasing performance.
