Andreas Weiland

Andreas Weiland (b.1944) is a poet, art and film critic, and scholar. In the early 1970s, he was employed as a researcher by the Center of Interdisciplinary Research of Bielefeld University. In the mid- and late 1970s, Weiland taught courses on 20th Century German Literature as well as essay writing/creative writing at Tamkang in Tamsui (Northern Taiwan). Subsequently, he taught "German as a foreign language" (to refugees from Cambodia) in Gelsenkirchen and a course on the psychology of literature at the Dept. of German of RUB Bochum University in Bochum, Germany. Since the 1980s until early 2005, he was intermittently employed, on the basis of temporary work contracts, as a researcher at RWTH University in Aachen, Germany, while being mainly active as a poet. He also taught courses at a university of applied sciences known as FH Aachen.
