Tanya Lapointe

TANYA LAPOINTE is a Canadian Academy Award®-nominated producer, as well as a 2nd unit director and author. After training in classical ballet for some twenty years, she discovered journalism at the University of Ottawa.

For fifteen years, she covered international film festivals for Radio-Canada, bringing her ever closer to cinema, her lifelong passion. She went on to produce and direct independent documentary films, while continuing to develop her voice across multiple forms of storytelling.

She then worked alongside director Denis Villeneuve on ARRIVAL and BLADE RUNNER 2049. After serving as executive producer on DUNE (2021), she is credited as producer (p.g.a.) and 2nd unit director on both DUNE: PART TWO (2024) and DUNE: PART THREE (2026).

Over the years she has penned several books including THE ART AND SOUL OF BLADE RUNNER 2049 (2017), THE ART AND SCIENCE OF ARRIVAL (2023), and THE ART AND SOUL books for each of the DUNE trilogy movies.

Most recently, she was announced as executive producer on Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming James Bond film for Amazon MGM Studios.
