John Hawkins

John Hawkins is a data scientist and machine learning researcher based in Sydney, Australia, where he enjoys an active life with his wife and twin boys. He is the Chief AI Officer with AI services company Intersect AI and an affiliated researcher with the non-profit Pingla Institute and the Transitional AI Research Group out of the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He holds a PhD in computer science from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors I) in the philosophy of science from the University of Newcastle. He has written more than 30 peer-reviewed research articles and presented at academic and industry conferences around the world.
