A native of Dublin, Ireland, David studied Electronics before working in Radio/TV. He progressed to Computer Science where his work took him to the Far East, the UK and mainland Europe. He cultivated an interest in the countries that he visited and studied the accounts and testimonies of the lives of people caught up in the turbulent events of their time.
He now works full time in writing and his latest book, The Dipping, is set across Ireland, London and Eastern Europe in the war-torn 1990s. The haunting story follows the separate paths of a woman and man, from opposite ends of the continent until their orbits intersect with traumatic effect.
Where the Cricket Sings, pursues the travails of a family fleeing the Fascism of 1930s Spain to find a new life in Ireland, a moving novel highly relevant to present times.
When not bringing drama and the past to life David spends time reading a range of genres, tries DIY projects, messes with classic cars and walks his mini Schnauzer.
