Calli Lewis Chiu

Calli Lewis Chiu, PhD, is associate professor in the Special Education Department at California State University, Fullerton. Before joining CSUF in 2018, she was assistant professor at California State University, Bakersfield and Shippensburg University. She holds a BFA in art education from Texas Tech University, an MEd with an emphasis in multicultural issues in special education from the University of Texas, Austin, and a PhD with an emphasis in emotional and behavioral disorders in special education from the University of North Texas. Prior to entering academia, Dr. Lewis Chiu was a special education teacher for ten years and a service provider for youth in foster care. Her teaching expertise is instruction for students with emotional and behavioral disorders and practices to increase equity in schools. She has numerous publications and presentations related to improving outcomes for students with emotional and behavioral disorders and equitable teaching practices.
