Ms Tracy J Adams

Originally from England and growing up attending Dorothy Perkins School of Dance in North London, Tracy has had a long association with dance and theatre. She performed with The Lyceum Players many annual pantomimes and musicals as well as other organizations. She attended London College of Fashion (Theatrical Studies, Specializing in Make-up & Hair), while also earning Associate membership of the International Dance Teacher's Association.

Tracy worked in the cosmetic industry with the British Skincare House of Innoxa, which owned Leichner Theatrical Make-up, in stores like Boots of Kensington, Selfridges and Harrods, as well as later working freelance as a make-up artist. Many bridal hair and make-up consultations are thanks to Tracy falling in love with make-up at a young age, because of dance and performing!

Upon moving to the Chicago suburbs in 1993, make-up and hair styling gradually became her hobby, as her love of dance started to fill everyday work life. Having discovered a newly opened little school of dance, (DancEncounter), Tracy soon joined as a part time teacher. Her 1997 membership of the community theatre, Wheaton Drama, continued Tracy's performing and choreographing life (as well as doing make-up and hair), which also lead to many years of choreographing musical theatre for local middle and high schools. Dance had always been, and continues to be, a constant source of connection, culture, activity, friendship and fulfillment in her life.

In 2001, the dancing school's founder was retiring, and Tracy's involvement increased as an owner, wearing all the hats this entails. She has shared dance in so many ways with so many people over the years, both onstage and off, in the classroom and out, and each one has been an honor, but the greatest privilege has been watching many children grow-up through dance.

With the dancing school soon to reach its thirtieth anniversary, Tracy decided to celebrate and honor the art of dance and all the little and big ballerinas, and dancers, that she and the little yellow house dancing school has had the joy to encounter, and have yet to meet, by 'dancing' words across a page.... to pay homage to the memories, interest and imagination in a new way ~ "a candle loses nothing by lighting another". Find your light and dance on.... however your heart desires...
