David Ross

David works as a VUCA strategist, founding boutique management consulting firm Phoenix Strategic Management (https://phoenixstrategic.com.au) during the GFC.

For close to 30 years, he has been helping leaders, organizations, and communities of all shapes and sizes thrive as they transcend the unthinkable in dealing with their most complex—and often polarizing—social, environmental, and economic opportunities, shocks, and crises. This has included guiding clients in some of the most challenging conversations experienced within society.

However, frustrated with the lack of progress made on our social, environmental, and economic challenges by organisations, David felt compelled to write Confronting the Storm. He believed that "what got us to here" - with respect to our centuries' old thinking, behaviour and action - "won't get us to there". And so, as the pandemic was announced, he began writing, having the privilege of interviewing some of the most inspiring leaders across the globe in the process.

David has a Bachelor of Science (1st-class honors), Master’s in Environmental Engineering and (Executive) Business Administration, and Graduate Certificates in Futures Thinking and Advanced Conflict Transformation. Furthermore, David is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce as well as the Institute for Managers and Leaders.

When he actually gets some spare time, he loves hiking, football (reliving the dreams), gardening and forest revegetation, and traveling.

He is currently completing the co-writing of Beyond the Great Resignation and Great Reset: Successfully Navigating Our Societal Sea Change—a book on the implications of the Great Resignation and the Great (Systemic) Reset to organizations and their cultures and how leaders can help their organizations to thrive through valuing and developing their employees.
