Andrea Celli

Andrea Celli has published works on the history of Islamic studies in Italy and Spain, on Dante studies, and on the history of criticism. He has translated essays by Adonis and Louis Massignon. His current research projects include a study of representations of Hagar and Ishmael, as genealogical symbols of religious conflict in early-modern Europe; and a monograph on Islam and the Eucharist in European imagination. He is the author of "Dante and the Mediterranean Comedy. From Muslim Spain to Post-Colonial Italy." He currently teaches Italian and Mediterranean Studies at the University of Connecticut.
