Bill Maier

Bill Maier resides in Carrboro, North Carolina, with his wife Annie. Bill grew up in a household surrounded by crossword puzzles. After graduating from the University of Maryland with a degree in Journalism, he spent time as a life insurance agent, before settling into a 28-year career in sales with Kraft Foods where he focused on analytics, data sharing, and sales strategy with the company’s retail customers. Inheriting the puzzle bug from his dad, he has been doing word search games and word jumbles in the daily paper and puzzle books all his life. In light of his life-long enjoyment of word puzzles, he has developed the Celebrity Word Scramble series, which springs from the intersection of Bill’s love for sports, literature and word jumbles. Bill has created over 3,000 of these puzzles over the past five years and looks forward to bringing future books on baseball, hockey, boxing, bowling, history, American government, literary characters, authors, and industry to name a few to puzzle lovers everywhere.
