Michael Melancon

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area between the 1970s and 1990s, then relocating to the Sacramento region where I earned an Associate of Arts Degree, later a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and recently retired from State service, I have spent over 20 years of my career helping others and gaining valuable insight in the world we live in. Along my journey I encountered countless numbers of incidents where I was the target of racial hate and discrimination. I am passionate about the rights of ALL people; human rights, and so I decided to tell my story. As a first-time author and publisher, I chose to write, “Why Do They Hate Us So Much”. The goal of the book is to bring awareness to racial issues and systemic racism here in America, in order to end racism while bringing unity and racial acceptance for all! My hope is some day there will be no more racial hate, no more racial divide, and my children and the future generations of children can grow up without the hate and live and work together in a quest to truly make America great for ALL.
