Maydine Alcid-Digsby

Dr. Maydine L. Alcid-Digsby is an educator, researcher, school leader, author, and advocate with more than three decades of experience dedicated to advancing excellence in early childhood education. Throughout her distinguished career, she has served as a teacher, educational director, mentor, administrator, and Head of School, leading programs that support children, families, educators, and communities.

Dr. Alcid-Digsby holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), an Education Specialist Educational Leadership (Ed.S.), a Master of Education Instructional Leadership (M.Ed.), and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Specialization in Clinical and Counseling (B.A.). Her interdisciplinary academic background, combined with more than 30 years of professional experience, has shaped her commitment to bridging educational research with practical strategies that strengthen teaching, leadership, and family partnerships.

Her doctoral research explored early childhood teachers' perceptions of their role in promoting kindergarten readiness, leading to the development of the Readiness Ecosystem Framework, an original conceptual model that reimagines kindergarten readiness as a shared responsibility among children, families, educators, schools, and the broader systems that influence early learning. Through this framework, she encourages educators and leaders to move beyond viewing readiness as a characteristic of the child alone and instead embrace a collaborative, relationship-centered approach.

In addition to her work as an educational leader, Dr. Alcid-Digsby is the author of multiple books for educators and children. Her writing reflects a deep belief in the transformative power of education and the importance of nurturing the whole child. She is passionate about mentoring educators, supporting families, and inspiring leaders to create learning environments where every child is valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
