Aaron Gransby

Aaron Gransby is a writer of contemporary English fiction. He is a product of suburbia – London’s Metroland – and the relationship between the suburbs and their cities features prominently in his work.

His debut novel, Outside, works on different levels as both a highly readable, mildly dystopian thriller and a social commentary on the way our society is evolving.

His second book, a volume of short stories called Destination, is a highly prescient collection, tackling issues as diverse as cancel culture, social media and the way we treat our elderly.

His latest book, The Pest Controller, is a delicious slice of suburban noir. In it, a pseudo-private detective goes to extreme lengths to exact fitting revenge on inconsiderate neighbours who flout the unwritten rules of suburbia.

Night Games, the second book in The Phoenix series and the follow-up to Outside, will be published in 2026.

Aaron now lives in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
