Oriane Falkenstein

Oriane is an elementary school teacher in Toronto, Canada. She was born and educated in Johannesburg, South Africa and emigrated to Toronto with her husband and baby in 1983. She has a love of picture books and often uses them in her classroom even with her students aged 11-14. She loves the way they open up discussion through the words and illustrations and the way they allow the listener to connect to the characters visually as the story unfolds.

Lenny and the Tooth Town Team was written years ago but waited to be illustrated and printed for many years. It had a solid place on her bucket list until she decided it was time to go ahead. She hopes it will be the first of many children's books that will be read and reread by young readers. She believes that everyone has the power to overcome obstacles - just like Lenny!

Oriane has three adult children. She is an avid reader, dog lover, lap swimmer and enjoys walking and working out at the gym.
