Conversational Spanish for Animal Shelter and Rescue Personnel: Dr. Pezzanite is an Animal Behavior Society Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist, of which there are only about 60 worldwide. Additionally, she's a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA). She was granted a Ph.D. in Psychology, Biopsychology and Animal Behavior subprograms, from the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York. Her animal behavior training was conducted at the Behavior Center of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), where she completed a two-year postdoctoral residency. She's been the proprietor of Long Island Animal Behavior Consulting Service for close to 20 years, and has served as a behavior consultant for various animal shelters in the New York region. Her undergraduate degree is in Romance Languages; Spanish, French, and Italian. Currently she uses her bilingual skills to write behavior articles in Spanish, and to help rescue organizations converse to adopters in Spanish, both as an interpreter and via her conversational Spanish manual.
