M.C. Shakie

Rodney “MC Shakie” Roussell, also known as the Official Host of New Orleans bounce music, is a Louisiana‐based emcee, popular vlogger and author.

As a writer M.C. Shakie has written and published several books, his writing career starting while incarcerated.

While in prison he was raped and sold into sexual slavery. He believes he was targeted due to his open sexual orientation. He was sentenced to 10 years and was re‐leased in December 2017. Upon his release he was interviewed for an Op‐Doc by the New York Times regarding prison rape and remains a proponent for its end.
