About the Author

DAN COONEY is an artist and writer best known for his work on comic book series like VALENTINE, THE TOMMY GUN DOLLS, WRITING AND ILLUSTRATING THE GRAPHIC NOVEL, THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO FIGURE DRAWING FOR COMICS AND GRAPHIC NOVELS, THE COMIC BOOK ARTIST'S WORKBOOK FOR PERSPECTIVE and 9-11: Emergency Relief Anthology.

Born in Northern California and raised in the Sacramento area, he attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City, NY, and graduated with a BFA in traditional sequential art and Illustration. As a freelance artist, he has worked with many companies including Barron’s Publishing, Quarto Books, Top Cow Books/The Hero Initiative, Peter Pride’s Publishing, Z2 Comics, Topps, Upperdeck, Alternative Comics, and Tower Records.

Cooney is also a consultant for the adaptation of his comic series VALENTINE for film development by Patriot Pictures.
