Erika Tenney

My name is Erika, and I'm the instructor behind Paint Pour Academy and the creator of Fluid Art with Erika on YouTube and social media. My grandmother was a professional oil paint artist, and she gave me a love for art — she gave my sister and me drawing classes when we were kids. As much as I loved watching her work, I quickly found that drawing and structured painting weren't for me. When my kids were little, I started scrapbooking, and I fell in love with mixed media art. In 2017, I discovered acrylic pouring, and I loved how unpredictable the technique was, yet how enjoyable it was to experiment with the paint. I was hooked!

What started as a family-based business at our kitchen table grew into Paint Pour Academy. I had so much fun creating art that I began selling it at outdoor events and to close friends, and the response was excellent. That led me to offer in-person classes so others could learn to create their own beautiful masterpieces. The in-person classes had a tremendous response, but they were limited to my hometown of Tucson, AZ, so I took the next step and launched online courses covering acrylic pouring, resin art, and creative gift ideas — techniques you can also find me demonstrating on YouTube and social media as Fluid Art with Erika.
