John Roesch

John Roesch, CASAC, CIP, is a founding partner and the Director of Recovery Services at Suntra Modern Recovery, a certified addiction counselor and intervention professional trained in multiple modalities, including ARISE, with a decade of industry experience in a variety of settings. John's specialties include alcohol/chemical dependency, systemic family work, and clients in psychiatric disorder crises.

John is a tireless advocate for individuals in addiction and mental health crises. He strongly emphasizes the importance of matching each client with the most appropriate recovery plan for their needs. He is also a huge proponent of family education, developing both a client and family-specific plan and, most importantly, post-discharge support and resources.

In addition to being a Certified Intervention Professional and Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor, John is also a Certified Recovery Coach and Peer Advocate. He holds a BA in Addiction Psychology and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy.

John had a 20+ year career as a professional chef, sommelier, and beverage professional who worked at the world-renowned Windows on the World restaurant and represented some of the most prestigious beverage brands in the world. On the morning of 9/11, a hangover made John late for a 9 a.m. meeting at Windows on the World Restaurant. John rebuilt his life from "rock bottom" to one of the nation's most highly regarded professional interventionists. John spends his free time with his wife, four children, and two dogs, seeking out food nirvana, and family activities in his beloved Queens neighborhood.
