Stefan Larsson

Stefan Larsson, MD, PhD, is a pioneer in the field of value-based health care. Dr. Larsson is an independent advisor to health care organizations and a board member of life science companies. He spent 25 years at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where as a senior partner he was the founder and first global leader of the firm’s health care payers and providers sector and of its health systems sector, which advises the leaders of national health systems around the world; he continues to serve as a BCG senior advisor. Dr. Larsson is also a cofounder and board member of the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM), a nonprofit that works to create global standards for measuring health outcomes, and a distinguished fellow on the Health and Health care team of the World Economic Forum. He did his medical training and PhD research at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, where he has an affiliation as an associate professor, and did postdoctoral research at the MRC Human Genomics Unit in Edinburgh, Scotland.
