It was a third grade teacher who told me I had a gift to write. But it wasn’t until I found myself in treatment for addictions at 30 that I realized he was right. The necessary process of writing my emotions and experiences in a journal is what revealed it. Before that, I spent a decade building up my resume with two degrees from the University at Notre Dame and a 4.5 year career as White House staff for a new administration.

Treatment was the pivot I needed to realize what I loved to do.

I’ve written three books in the process of a life changed by Christ including, “Healthy Voice: Life Beyond the Weight,” (no it’s not a book about weight but realizing life isn’t about weight, but pursuing God.) That one I wrote while grieving the loss of my Dad. The second one was, How to Let Go of your Food and Weight Obsession: A Guide for the Woman who Wants More for Her Life.” That book came unexpectedly, at the beginning of Covid. When I knew many people would turn to food as a way out, the Lord called me to write a book to help them find He was what they needed.

The most recent one, “Step Up Woman of God: You are a Warrior Made to Guide God’s Daughters was written after two decades of healing and growing in the Lord realizing the women who would mentor others needed to step up and become the warriors the hurting women need.

My writing isn’t just in books. I’ve written many scripts for You Tube channel and my podcast, Get Real with Meredith. I’ve written curriculums for the training of leaders for my ministry, Guiding God’s Daughters and leading support groups for that same ministry.

I’ve also written a curriculum for the Cleveland Clinic and Curves International on behavior modification that included faith for a program called, Curves Complete.

I am an East Coast girl who still drives like that sometimes, but I’ve realized I’ve always been a Midwest girl at heart. I live in Southwest Michigan with my husband, my daughter, my goldendoodle Maggie and two cats, Simba and Bitsi. We love enjoying nature, especially spending time on Lake Michigan watching sunsets and going for hikes when we can.
