Ross Emerson is a consultant and executive coach with over 30-years of business experience drawing from international roles in Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Monaco, and India. In addition to owning and operating a private coaching business serving clients around the globe under his personal brand, Ross Emerson Ltd., Ross provides senior executive coaching and consulting services through the LHH International Center for Executive Options (ICEO) in London, UK where he is also the Editor of ICEO Insights UK, an in-house virtual magazine focused on the theme of senior executive career transitions. Since 2017 Ross has also been coaching executives in the Kellogg-Schulich E.M.B.A. programme, rated #2 in the world by the Economist in 2020.
During a successful career in financial services spanning over 30-years, Ross held senior roles in financial services strategy, operational risk management, learning and development, global payments, wealth management, and enterprise leadership. In 2021, Ross was invited by the National Institute of Organisation Dynamics Australia to present his research at their annual Symposium themed “Not Knowing and Coming to Know: Methods of Inquiry in Unconscious (Hidden) Dynamics in Organisations. Also in 2021, Ross was nominated for an Ontario Premier’s Award for success in business. In 2013 and 2014, Ross won Royal Bank of Canada’s Private Banking Gold Award given to the top enterprise leaders across Canada. Prior to that in 2009 and 2011, Ross won the Barclays Chairman’s award for Individual Contribution to the Monaco and to the Europe regions respectively. In 2002 Ross was privileged to be part of the World Youth Day team organising the visit of Pope John Paul II to Toronto. In 2003 Ross relocated to England and worked as Deputy Fundraising Director at the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and after several years, Ross was headhunted by the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain to join its Executive Committee as Development Director.
Ross has served as Non-Executive Director on the boards of two UK charities in the past and served on the board for the Canadian Centre for Diversity between 2012 and 2014 as Chair of its Development Committee as well as being Treasurer for a short period. Currently Ross serves as a Director and co-Chairman of a property management company where he provides strategic oversight and guidance for the management of over 100 homes as well as commercial businesses.
Ross holds an Honours B.A. degree in Politics from Western University in London, Ontario; a Graduate Certificate in International Business from Seneca College in Toronto; an M.B.A. from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto; and an Executive Master in Change degree (distinction) from INSEAD’s program on organizational culture and change management in Fontainebleau. In October 2021 Ross commenced a Ph.D. in Management Studies at King’s College London. He was awarded a full, multi-year PhD scholarship by the T. Ritchie Rodger Research Foundation connected to the British Psychological Society to carry out his research in the leadership, clinical organizational psychology, and organizational behaviour arenas.
Ross is a member of the Academy of Management and the European Group for Organizational Studies. As well as being certified in the Hogan Leadership Suite of psychometric tools, he previously completed his UK Investment Management Certificate, the Canadian Securities Course, and held the Personal Financial Planner designation in Canada.
