Ryan Thorpe

Dr. Ryan Thorpe is from Texas and is an associate teaching professor of writing at the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute where he is also the director of the writing program. He is the executive director of Inkwell (www.inkwell.asia), a non-profit literary group with locations around China, and he enjoys teaching, writing poems, essays, and novels, and can often be found walking around Shanghai late at night or lounging around at a coffeeshop with a book. He is passionate about Shanghai history, used book stores, whisky, darts, and traveling to new places.
