John Alfred Kingdon

John Alfred Kingdon is the founding member of The Harmony Variety Group Ltd, a charity that teaches after school lessons in stagecraft to children and adults of all ages and abilities. John’s life has been one of sharing his talents for the benefit of others. His voluntary and charitable work in many communities have been well recognised and rewarded with many accolades. His charity won The Queen’s Golden Jubilee Award for Voluntary Service by Groups in the Community, culminating with two trips to the palace. John was named a Paul Harris Fellow, given to him “for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.” from the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.

He survived the war but is now a survivor after six strokes, plus four TIA’s, “mini-strokes”. To make John’s journey more remarkable, since 1999, he has suffered from COPD, three hip operations, twelve minor heart attacks, two heart operations, two other delicate operations in a place he doesn’t like to talk about. These are amongst other things he continues to suffer from. He sustained a substantial memory loss because of slight brain damage, which he believes wasn’t fully recognised.

The words in this book recognise John’s extensive search to find himself.
