Dr. Dessy Marinova is a school and clinical psychologist practicing in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has extensive clinical experience with children, adolescents, and adults who present with mood and anxiety concerns, OCD-related disorders, learning disabilities, and ADHD. Dr. Dessy maintains a practice as a psychologist, provides consultations to schools and mental health professionals, and offers workshops for parents and teachers. She enjoys working with families, supervising graduate students in psychology, and providing consultations to mental health professionals interested in learning how to integrate evidence-based practices to treat complex mental health conditions.
Dr. Dessy wrote her first book, Parent-Child Guide to Coping with Anxiety, in collaboration with her 11-year-old daughter, Lora. Lora helped her mother create the main characters and transform evidence-based strategies into a child's language. She also created all illustrations included in the workbook. Lora loves to read, swim, and play basketball.
