Karen K. Koukou is a multi-talented powerhouse, a bestselling author, Culture & Engagement Leader in Higher Education, professional stager, interior decorator, teen ministry leader, and visionary culture builder, who lives out the biblical call to multiply God-given talents for God’s glory. Rooted in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30), she diligently and creatively stewards every gift entrusted to her, uplifting others through each role she embraces. Born in Liberia, West Africa, and raised in the United States, she found refuge in library books as a child, sparking her passion for storytelling that heals, affirms, and connects. Beyond writing, Karen is a devoted wife and mother with a philanthropic heart that fuels her work through The Power to Do Something, the nonprofit she founded to educate, empower, and inspire underprivileged girls, women, and orphans in Liberia. A trailblazing publisher and advocate for belonging, she amplifies marginalized voices and builds bridges through literature, education, and community impact. Karen holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts–Amherst, a master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership & Administration from Capella University, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Education Leadership at Capella University.
