Ashleigh Barton

Ashleigh Barton is a children's author and copywriter. Before writing full time, she pursued her love of books (children's books especially) by working in some of Australia's biggest publishing houses, running marketing and publicity campaigns for globally renowned authors and illustrators. Ashleigh is the author of eight successful and highly acclaimed picture books including WHAT DO YOU CALL YOUR GRANDMA, DINOSAUR IN MY POCKET and HEDGEHOG OR ECHIDNA. WHAT DO YOU CALL YOUR MUM was an Amazon number one bestseller in 2026. Ashleigh is also the author of junior fiction novels FREDDIE SPECTOR, FACT COLLECTOR and SOLOMON MACARONI as well as acclaimed middle grade novel, HOW TO SAIL TO SOMEWHERE. EIGHTY-NINE QUESTIONS FOR AFTER will be published in July 2026. Ashleigh lives in Sydney with her husband, three children and their dog in a house filled with books.
