Ian Pateman

A retired civil engineer, I have been writing for 20+ years, mostly historical novel-length fiction, or when the mood (or muse?) takes me, slightly whimsical contemporary stuff.

My novel, The Third Heaven, a first-person narrative of the life of a 14th century Italian artist, a fictitious apprentice to Giotto, was published in December 2020.

My latest novel, The Ice Barn, a thriller set in the American North-West in 1899, will be published soon.

I am currently researching and writing a novel spanning the lives of two brothers and their families from 1914 to the present day.
