Tia Richardson

Tia Richardson is an author, filmmaker, and award-winning community mural artist based in her hometown of Milwaukee, WI. Writing and illustrating stories is something she always enjoyed as a child, with a dream of becoming an author one day. Since 2007 her storytelling expressions have evolved into avenues for community members to freely express their feelings through large-scale public murals. These collaborative art efforts offer people a chance to acknowledging their challenges, think of ways of improving those and imagine a brighter future together. Hundreds of people have participated in these efforts, working together for the common good. Tia has worked with schools, non-profits, businesses and local government. She has produced several short films about those efforts which can be seen with her other art at: www.cosmic-butterfly.com.
