Jeffrey Cortez

Born and raised in the Bronx, New York City, Jeffrey Cortez is happily married to an amazing woman, father to three smart adult daughters, grandfather to three dynamic kids and blessed with a wonderful son-in-law. He had the privilege of attending New York City’s High School of Art and Design back in the 70s. Jeffrey‘s work experience include being a child development pre-K teacher/coordinator, a chaplain/activities director to 500 dual diagnosed male residents in the Bowery, hospital assistant psychiatric social worker, high-risk intervention high school counselor and certified bilingual special-education school social worker (retired). Writers that have inspired him include Calvin Miller and Shel Silverstein. Jeffrey loves doodling and dry humor.

Jeffrey recently collaborated with his young grandkids on an illustrated children’s book based on his own grandmother’s creative problem solving methods. He recently published is a hysterical fictionalized memoir of an urban pastor of a small struggling Pentecostal church. Jeffrey is current working on illustrations for a story based on delayed gratification and his first bicycle.
