Heidi Maibom is a philosopher (PhD University College London) and Distinguished Professor at the University of the Basque Country and Professor of Philosophy at the University of Cincinnati. She writes about empathy, psychopathy, shame, and responsibility from an interdisciplinary perspective.
Her latest book, The Space Between, is about what it is to have a first person perspective, how it affects our understanding of the world, and how learning to take other perspectives makes us more impartial and objective. She is currently working on a book on how the psychopath provides a lens through which we can understand ourselves and our social and moral impulses.
