Natalie Petraki

Author and Illustrator Natalie Petraki was born in Iraklion, Crete, Greece, in 1977. She has always enjoyed playing video games, reading, and writing books since her teenage years. She wrote her first adventure book at the age of thirteen, using a typewriter. Her mother Melanie introduced her to the world of painting and illustration at the same time. That led her to studies at the former Kent Institute of Art and Design (current University for the Creative Arts) in Canterbury and Maidstone, in England. As soon as she completed the course of HND Illustration and Graphic Design, she proceeded with further studies in HND/BA (Hons) 3D Computer Animation for video game design at the University of Portsmouth, England. She earned an additional Masters degree in Art, Design and Media with Merit, and has been writing novels since her graduation day. She is currently working on her second adventure book of this series along with a crime novel for adults and teenagers. She has written a number of shorter stories as well that she is considering developing into novels. Natalie has found that being a Writer and Illustrator is the profession that truly makes her happy. Her main target is to offer her readers adventures that are fun, with helpful messages and a great sense of humor.

In her free time, she loves going for walks, cooking, yoga, watching movies, listening to epic music/Frank Sinatra and jazz, and playing with the family's dogs Tito, Babi and Asproula. Babi and Asproula happen to be rescued dogs.

She lived in England for approximately ten years and she currently lives in Iraklion, Crete. She has received various awards in painting and karate tournaments, and has decided to combine her writing of mystery-adventures with her own illustrations. In her work, she offers one hundred percent commitment and uses unorthodox ways of presentation. When she creates, her appreciation of nature and beauty is apparent, along with her sensitivity, respect, and high awareness of her environment. She loves focusing on the positive side of life and sharing it with other people along with useful tools that will guide them in their lives. As a creator, she pays much attention to details in order to produce a beautiful outcome that emits love, thought, and concern for the reader. Her stories are full of adventure, action, romantic moments, beauty, surprises, interesting discoveries, and great humor. At the same time, she shows her readers how to never give up on life and that there is always a solution.
