After more than two decades of substance use, Melissa Gissy Witherspoon is living proof that recovery is possible. Now in long-term sobriety, she dedicates her life to sharing a message of hope, healing, and the power of transformation.

Originally from a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, Melissa now lives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with the youngest of her four children and her husband, Derek. She is the Founder and CEO of Sober-Now, a nonprofit committed to bringing recovery literature and resources to prisons, recovery centers, sober-living homes, human trafficking safe houses, churches, accountability courts, and high schools across the country.
