Christian Shimer

Since 2005 Christian Shimer has specialized in producing non-profit fundraising videos based on the work his father had done for decades as a top fundraising consultant in the U.S. for major gift capital campaigns. He realized that he could only serve one mission at a time in an industry where too many organizations had no clue how to court big gift donors and even fewer understood how to leverage the power of video as part of that effort. So, he shared the techniques he developed as author of the book, Secrets to Big Money Using Video: The Art of the Video Case Statement, part of a two-book set alongside his father’s book on fundraising, Secrets to Big Money Fundraising.

In his early life, Christian grew up with a sociopathic mother who eventually broke up the family due to her selfish and abusive impulses. This caused him to become a student of human behavior and psychology as a means of offsetting the damage she caused and to avoiding abusive people in the future. His newest book Human Predators highlights the red-flag warnings of those looking to take a bite out of us so we can see and avoid them before they can do any damage. He also participated in the development of the sister book for young adults called Watch Out! A Teenagers Guide to Avoiding Sociopaths, Psychopaths and Narcissists.
