Traude Ailinger

After graduating from Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen in 1994 with a degree in Latin and German Language and Literature, which proved rather unhelpful in the job market, I decided to follow my lifelong affection for all things British and took up residence in Scotland in search of love and adventure. This move resulted in a Diploma in Translation and, in quick succession, three children. After being a housewife for several years, I had murder on my mind and started to kill off people (on paper!). Since 2003, I have been working as a Teacher of EAL (English as an Additional Language) at Strathallan School in Perthshire. Between 2020 and 2025, The Edinburgh Murder Mysteries series featuring the adventures of DI Russell McCord and journalist Amy Thornton was created. The first four novels are also available as audiobooks.

Breaking news (28 July 2026): The boxset of The Edinburgh Murder Mysteries (novels 1-7) is now No 1 in Scottish Crime!
