Barbara Pinke

Barbara Pinke is an award-winning children’s book author who believes every story deserves a sprinkle of adventure, a dash of heart, and maybe even a dancing fish or two.

Born and raised in Hungary, Barbara hopscotched her way across Europe, collecting memories, inspiration, and a few too many notebooks, before settling in Germany with her family (and her ever-growing tea stash).

By day, she works in HR, helping grown-ups. By night, she writes books, helping little hearts grow big. She doesn’t drink coffee (though she loves the smell), but give her a cup of warm plum tea and a handful of pistachios, and she’s ready to take on any story.

And the ginger cat in the photo? That’s Pizza, the real-life star of My Cat Is Like That. His favorite spot is Barbara’s lap, which makes writing a little tricky… but very cozy.

Whether she’s writing about underwater adventures, superhero parents, or bugs that love to hug, Barbara’s mission is simple: to create stories that make kids smile and help parents feel like rockstars.
