Helene Gardiner grew up in Bristol. Surrounded by city life, she always found a way to immerse herself in nature, collecting minnows in jam-jars at Snuff Mills and making homes for woodlice at the bottom of her grandparents’ garden. Her dream was to be a wildlife artist.
After a battle with cancer, Helene finally made the life-changing decision to follow her heart. She now raises awareness for endangered, or wildlife in need, by writing and illustrating their stories.
Introducing, engaging, and entertaining young children with the animal characters in her books, Helene hopes to connect children to wildlife, encourage conservation and an interest in the natural world, and help children develop a love of reading.
