Robert spent most of his working life in Derbyshire and surrounding areas. He spent thirty-two years as a British police officer, rising in the ranks to Chief Superintendent and a Divisional Commander. After completing a BSc(Hons) and an MSc degree in psychology at Sheffield University, he went on to qualify as a chartered psychologist and spent the next twenty years specialising in domestic violence and post-traumatic stress disorder. On retirement, he became the Churchwarden at his local church. On the presumption that you write about what you know best, all his books are based on first-hand knowledge and the experiences he has gathered over many years. His hobbies include cycling (but now with the aid of a bit of battery assistance), portrait sketching, fly fishing and playing the banjo. He lives with his wife in Canterbury, England.
