KaMara, affectionately known as “KK”, spent nearly two decades in healthcare operations and recently expanded her knowledge base to include social and emotional health. She is an author, adjunct professor, and therapist! She is a Nationally Certified Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of Indiana.
She released "Brown Girls Can!" in 2021 to help inspire and encourage girls to realize their true potential. Her "Brown Girls Can! Journal" was released in May 2022 and is geared towards teens, tweens and young adults. It is a guided journal to help young girls acknowledge and embrace who they are. KK is also the founder of a virtual mentoring program entitled, D.O.P.E. (Determined. Optimistic. Powerful. Exceptional) Girls, the Troop Leader of her local Girl Scout Troop, and has independently mentored over 20 girls. Serving young people is her passion and she makes an effort to inspire every chance she gets!
