I was born in Southampton where I lived until going to University in Eastbourne in 1979. I moved to the Isle of Wight in 1984 to take up a teaching position at Upper Chine School, Shanklin; and continued teaching on the Island until retiring in November 2020.
Since 2003, my husband and I have had a holiday home in the medieval town of Josselin, Brittany.
My experience teaching and living in France were the inspiration for the Groovy Grandad books.
