Catherine Carson

Hello! I'm Catherine, author of Land of Opposite Attractions. I studied poetry at James Madison University, earning the faculty award. Most of the poems in this book were written in workshops at the creative writing center. Some were added to the collection later in my mid-twenties. LOAA deals with a variety of subjects: mental illness, relationships, and navigating one's inner world. Everything was written Plath style; that is, confessional. I am continuously inspired by female poets, the beauty around me, and the inner workings of my own mind. If you are struggling to form an identity, to understand the people around you, or just want to appreciate the small things, this book is for you.
