Alfredo Papa

My name is Alfredo Papa, I was born in 1981 in Taranto in Italy, where I live and teach the art of drawing and oil and watercolor painting in my Papa Arts art school.

I was born and raised in the art and frame workshop Arte In of my father, Giuseppe Papa, a well-known impressionist painter and watercolorist who participated in very important exhibitions with Italian masters such as De Chirico, Dalì, Schifano, Guttuso, etc.

I’ve always breathed passion and emotions in contact with colors, and since I was a child I’ve been passionate about drawing and artistic painting, immediately demonstrating an innate predisposition to art.

I completed my path of artistic maturation with the guidance of my father, up to full maturity, supporting him every day, until he died in 2007. Continuing alone as a self-taught, I cultivated my father's teachings in a personal research path, and then, in the following years, I also followed other masters, carefully chosen, such as the great Venetian master Renato Nosek, who made my artistic level grow even more.

Over time, I perfected the techniques of drawing, oil, and watercolor painting, specializing in particular in the figurative of the human body, and I developed a great knowledge of materials, tools, and chemistry of pictorial means.

During my training, I visited various museums in Italy and abroad, where I observed and studied the works of the great masters. That experience was of great value to me.

In recent years, I participated in many important exhibitions—collective and personal—and various competitions, receiving positive reviews from the public and critics. In particular, in an exhibition in Venice, curated by Vittorio Sgarbi, I exhibited my paintings together with those of the Nobel Prize winner Dario Fo, the artist Eugenio Carmi, and Jose Dalì (son of Salvador Dalì)

I received important satisfaction and recognition in my personal encounter with well-known personalities such as Vasco Rossi and Romina Power, to whom I handed the portraits of my works.
