Clive Thomas

Born in the UK, I grew up in the rural county of Northamptonshire, where I developed a passion for cycling and sailing. Studying at the University of Wales, Swansea, I gained a degree in English language and literature and a love for travel. I then took a year off to work and travel before heading to the University of Sussex where I completed my Teaching certificate. But after qualifying as a secondary school teacher, I decided to explore the world a little before committing myself to a teaching post.

I then spent six months in the Caribbean, teaching sailing on an upmarket ‘holiday camp’ before travelling to Australia, where I eventually settled. My adventures in the Caribbean formed the basis for my first self-published novel Camp Caribbean and led me to explore opportunities in outdoor education. I now reside permanently in Australia and, after ten years in the field of outdoor education, I work as a High School teacher, teaching English and sharing my interest in literature and creative writing.

Having written several works of fiction and non-fiction, my writing is predominately inspired by my own experiences in travel, sailing and adventure.
