Renee Hayes

Renee Hayes is a children’s book author, former elementary teacher, and lifelong believer that storytime should come with plenty of laughs.

After 15 years in education, Renee knows exactly what can happen when you put a book in front of a room full of kids—which is why she loves creating playful, engaging stories made for reading aloud, laughing together, and asking, “Can we read it again?”

Her stories blend humor, heart, and plenty of adventure, with relatable characters, playful surprises, and the kind of fun that makes them perfect for sharing at home or in the classroom.

Renee holds master’s degrees in both Elementary Education and Library Science and loves connecting with students and teachers through school author visits. She also creates classroom resources for educators through her brand, The Teacher Tourist.

When she isn’t writing, Renee is usually traveling, dreaming up her next book idea, or hanging out with her husband and cat in Texas. Her cat has even become part of the fun—she’s hidden somewhere in the illustrations of every book Renee writes, giving readers one more thing to spot along the way.
