I am a born and bred city girl from Pretoria, South Africa – with relatives on a farm. At fifty I got my second chance and fell in love with a farmer. I am still working full time, not in town, but on a nearby farm. We are about 60km from the nearest town. This gives me lots of time to observe the chickens and learn about them.

The joy that I get from our walks and interaction with the farm animals is something that I never expected. Telling stories is my way of bringing my kids closer. They only visit twice a year and if not for video-calls, the world would be a sad place.

It is wonderful to hear how my fans enjoy my stories – both on video and in the books. The first book that I did (self-publication) set the base for my following. Most people who bought the first book also bought the rest. Those who started with the second, also bought the first. To me that indicates that the kids really do enjoy the stories. Writing stories for kids will always be my way of escaping the daily humdrum.

Apart from the four books already out there, I have four short stories that were added to a compilation published by SA Kinderboekskrywers, titled Haas Manewales.

After completing a writing course to improve my skills and to try my hand at a more mature market, I published my first novel 'Rose vir Olivia'. I got great reviews, and I have sold quite a few of them. Feedback on this book is also very positive. You will not be sorry.
