If you do not take a risk on yourself, who will! That is the truth and what has led me here today with my first published book. Being a teacher in Dallas, TX, for almost 10 years has taught me what kids need and what is the thing that holds them back. Most of the time it is taking a chance on themselves, and the risk of being wrong. Which can be terrifying. I always encourage them to take this risk, who knows, you might be right. When they feel encouraged, they feel they can do anything. I teach English and it always amazes me what a little encouragement to a student’s writing and work does for their self-esteem. It encourages them to continue the work and grow from the work already done. This encouragement says you are great, that God has given you gifts that need to be shared, and that you never know of the blessing your gift can be to someone who needs motivation too. This is what this book is all about, and why I wrote it. Basically, be you, and your gifts will flow, and share those gifts that you were given with joy!

For me, writing is something that I have always loved to do. I find that I write to be able to sort through the things that are in my head and heart. It untangles the wires and keeps me grounded. I also love music and find it to be wonderful when you hear a song that speaks words to your emotions. I am grateful to have been able to share the gift of writing and music with those who read the book.

When I am not writing I am reading, painting, being creative, exercising, and spending time with my wonderful husband, family, and friends.
