Dr. Paul L Baker

The author has a diverse background. During the Vietnam War, he served as the Navy's Cambodian Analyst in 1969 and 1970. During his tour of duty, the US established diplomatic relations with Cambodia, Ho Chi Minh died, Prince Norodom Sihanouk was overthrown and the US Army invaded the Cambodian border areas leading to the Kent State Massacre. The events of five of his novels are based on the author's reflection of his experience in Vietnam.

With a PhD in Mathematics, the author was a college Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science for half a century. He has written some specialized texts on Point Set Topology, Linear Algebra and Geometry and has edited a General Education Liberal Arts Math text. Also, for his students' amusements, Dr. Baker has written numerous short stories collected in the Catawba College publication, the Arrowhead, and in two of his books.

Dr. Baker also earned a Master of Divinity degree and was the first white graduate of Hood Theological Seminary. With this background he has published a translation of the Book of Philippians and three One-Year Devotionals focusing on Proverbs, Psalms and John respectively. Another One-Year Devotional on Luke is in the pipeline.
