Nancy Runner

Nancy Runner lives and writes in North Carolina now, after forty years in Wisconsin. Her family includes two grown children, their spouses, and four grandchildren. Nancy graduated from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In her growing up years, she lived in five states as well as England and Argentina. On nosy application forms, she checks the boxes for married, single, and divorced. Nancy believes change provides opportunity, and we’re never too old to keep learning.

In her essays, Nancy explores relationships and their long-term consequences, good and bad. Personal mishaps find their way into her writing: from getting stuck in the gas-station-car-wash, to accidentally drinking the water from a vase of flowers, or paying over $100 for a canister of tea, Nancy likes to laugh at herself and hopefully provide encouragement to others.

Her books include, "2Cute 2Be 4Gotten" (a collection of verses, like we used to write in high school yearbooks),"A Book about Mourning Doves" (a picture book to read to children ages 4-8), and "Early Birds Flock Together" (Joys, Sorrows-and Laughs-in Senior Living), a memoir. She also edited and published letters written by her Great Aunt in 1944 and 1945: "From Castles and Bombs to Nazis and Frauleins" (Adventures with the Red Cross in England and Germany during World War II).
