Phillip Sprayberry is an educator, a freelance stage director, and an author based in the metropolitan New York area.
Sprayberry earned his doctorate, with distinction, at Drew University’s Caspersen School. He received a master of arts in musical theatre from New York University and a bachelor of arts in music education from Lipscomb University.
After a twenty-plus year career in arts education in the South, Sprayberry moved north to continue his career as a freelance stage director and to serve as adjunct professor of communication and music. He retired as media relations coordinator in public relations from William Paterson University in Wayne, N.J.
Sprayberry is the lead author of "MARQUEE MOMENTS - Essays by Theatre Lovers, and the author of "CHEERS! The Joy of Toasting" and "All I Ever Needed was the Music: A biography of Edward Kleban, lyricist of 'A Chorus Line'." He is working on a business and social communications book to help college students transition from the classroom to the workplace.
