Marion Veal

I have always loved reading and wildlife. As a child I read constantly and scribbled stories about Lassie and Daktari, as an adult I wrote about my favourite TV cowboys, but it was the arrival into my garden, during the COVID 19 Lockdown, of a beautiful fox I called, Vix, that led to the publication of my first children's book, Vix, the Lockdown Fox.

My next book was a memoir, Vix, My Lockdown Friend, written as I was grieving for my husband, home alone during lockdown and building a relationship with a stunning vixen.

I am a science teacher and my love of the natural world has seen me travel in search of whales, bears and other amazing wildlife but I am also happy to sit in my garden watching the birds and listening for the arrival of a visiting cat or fox. I am currently writing more books for children of all ages hoping to encourage everyone to enjoy and love our wildlife more.
